February 24 - March 7 Israel – Encountering Contemporary Complexity Led by JCHS staff and Israel’s Keshet Tours, the juniors and seniors are embarking on an unbelievable adventure. From the ruins of ancient Jerusalem to the modern Hebrew city of Tel Aviv; from the conflict of the separation fence to the spiritual peace of Tzfat – over two Shabbatot and an amazing Purim in Jerusalem, they will have a deep encounter with Israel the place and Israel the people. Students will examine the place of Israel in their school community, in the North American Jewish community, and in their own Jewish lives. The group will wrestle with and celebrate Israel’s complexity, and see how it is manifest in Israeli politics, geography, and culture. You can follow our students through this incredible journey through our new Israel Journey blog! Check back often for updates. | | |
