JCHS offers a Flexible Tuition Program designed to help keep a JCHS education accessible to families from a variety of economic backgrounds or who are facing financial challenges. This enables tuition itself to be adjusted to a family’s financial circumstances. We encourage families to apply for flexible tuition.

Q. Will applying for flexible tuition affect my child’s chances of being admitted to JCHS? A: No, Admissions and flexible tuition decisions are made separately Q: Do we have to re-apply for flexible tuition every year? A: Yes. Unless your financial situation changes significantly or school resources change, your tuition reduction will continue each year. Q: My spouse is embarrassed about applying for reduced tuition, should we apply? A: We encourage families to apply for our flexible tuition program. Please know we treat this personal financial information as strictly confidential. Q: What is the income ceiling to quality for flexible tuition? A: JCHS does not have an income ceiling for flexible tuition since every family’s situation is different. We evaluate the need of each family based on their application and make our decisions accordingly. Q: I work for myself and cannot complete my tax returns now in time to meet the flexible tuition application deadline. What should I do? A: Just estimate your taxes to the best of your ability on the PFS that you submit to SSS. JCHS will use that information for a preliminary decision. A final decision will be made once your taxes are filed and the actual information is compared to your estimates Q: Do you take into consideration both parents’ income if we are divorced or if one of us is remarried? A: JCHS considers all available sources of financial support when making flexible tuition decisions. Each parent must submit a separate PFS to SSS. Q: I work for myself and my income can vary each year. Does this impact my application? A: Decisions for 2011-2012 are based on 2010 income, since we cannot predict what will happen next year. You may submit a letter explaining your specific extenuating circumstances to the JCHS Flexible Tuition Program Committee.
