Remote Access

San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) Academic Databases
You will need your SFPL card to access SFPL’s enormous selection of databases.

Academic Databases

Academic Databases provide you access to a wealth of digital resources. For remote access to these databases, you'll be prompted for a user name and password which can be found in the Student Planner (or email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ).

JCHS Databases:

Congressional Quarterly Researcher
CQ Researcher reports on topics in politics, health, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy

EBSCO Religion and Philosophy Collection
Find 240 full-text journals on such topics as world religions, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy, and history of philosophy.

Grove/Oxford Art
Full-text articles on every aspect of the visual arts from prehistory to today offer you the ability to search over 130,000 art images and extensive biographical, cultural, and bibliographical information.

JSTOR
A high level source of peer-reviewed full-text scholarly periodicals.

ProQuest
Most of PQ's 2000 magazine, newspaper, and reference sources are in full text/layout.

 

San Francisco Public Library Databases

You will need your SFPL card to access SFPL’s enormous selection of databases. You can access a copy of the card application online but will then need to go into any SFPL branch with an ID showing that you live anywhere in California (a JCHS student ID works!)
