This past Sunday JCHS had its first open house of the year and from my point of view it went great! The day started with our fabulous student ambassadors welcoming families and an outstanding preview of the Fall Musical Pippin.
Prospective parents’ reviews included “fabulous,” and “Better than college performances!” I know I agree and understand why it is sold out! In the theater we heard two alumni, which was a great introduction to our student panel! Five students from different grades shared their experiences in the plays, making friends with other grades, and participating in sports, all of which I can say are worthwhile and fun things to do at JCHS.
After being in the theater, we broke into groups and heard about the Jewish studies, humanities, and math and science departments at JCHS. The prospective families had the opportunity to see our dedicated teachers share why they love teaching and what JCHS curriculum is like. It was a reminder of the wonderful professional community at JCHS.
The day ended with schmoozing and snacks with the student ambassadors, faculty, and prospective families. The open house was a success and I can’t wait for the next one on December 8th!
