Girls Volleyball Championship

Elana Fogel
This year, the JCHS Varsity volleyball team made history. The Wolves finished the regular season undefeated, ready and eager to take the playoffs by storm. In the first round of playoffs, we beat Summit Prep in three sets, which not only put us in the championships, but also guaranteed us a spot in the Central Coast Section (CCS) playoffs the following week.

Though our nail-biting league-championship game ended with a loss, it ignited unity and only made us more excited to take on CCS.  We immediately got in the mindset of our next game and focused our energy in practice on fine-tuning our skills and rotations, while still having fun knowing the season was coming to a close.  We trekked down to Watsonville on the following Thursday night for our 7pm game. Although we left that night defeated, we also left with an incredible season behind us.

As a senior and co-captain, I am so proud of the growth and success of the varsity team the past four years. Playing volleyball has given me an outlet to grow as a player, leader and person, and I have formed close relationships on this team both with players and coaches.
