First Semester Freshman Reflection

Oliver Bass '17
The semester is ending and everyone is getting ready for the six-day, post-finals break. As a freshman, my first semester at JCHS was great! It started on the freshman retreat, where I met my classmates and bonded not only with the freshmen but also with some seniors who came as our "senior buddies."
Once school started and I met my teachers, I discovered quickly that each teacher has something unique to offer and I always come to class eager to learn.
In my first semester I was able to partake in a few after-school activities. I played on the soccer team during the fall, which was a fun experience. The fall musical, Pippin, was really awesome and I would have loved to participate in it but it conflicted with soccer. Currently I am enjoying the school's hip-hop team. We practice as often as possible and it is the best part of my day. Every time I leave feeling like I have improved. Overall, my first semester at JCHS was great and I cannot wait for the second one and the years to come!
