Freshman Journey: Trusting Each Other

Rachel Buonaiuto
It was great to see the students working together in the trust fall exercises and cheering one another up the alpine tower.
It's been a fabulous, active day here at Brandeis Bardin. We started with a hearty breakfast and then the students participated in multiple tefillah options. We then split the grade into two separate groups and rotated between ropes course trust-building games and climbing the alpine tower. It was great to see the students working together in the trust fall exercises and cheering one another up the alpine tower.

In the afternoon we split into gender-specific groups and the students had the opportunity to spend time with their peers of the same gender. It was a nice way to slow down the day and take some time to speak with one another in a more intimate setting.

Tonight the freshman Roshim Maya and Sam led the class in various evening activities. The next item up on our schedule is a night hike.

Day two has been filled with lots of activities and it has been a pleasure watching the students support each other as they all try new experiences here in Southern California. We are looking forward to three more days on the road before we turn to SF!
