After a much needed late start (9 am wake up) we grabbed some breakfast before heading to our morning tefillah. After our prayers or mindfulness activity for the day, we hopped on the buses and rolled out to Zion Mountain School at 11 am.

We split into two groups: canyoneering and rock climbing. Each group traveled for an hour to get to the perfect spot for their adventure. In the canyoneering group, we started with some basic lessons on how to wear rappelling gear and headed off on a 20-minute hike up a mountain. Once there, we got more detailed instructions and strategies from our amazing guides. One by one, students began rappelling down into the canyon and cheering each other on.  It was really great to hear all of the positive energy!

After the first two rappels, we had a break for a self-packed lunch and posed for a photo.  Students were then divided into two groups: one long rappel or two short ones. We met back up at the bottom and then squeezed through some tight spaces to finish out our adventure in the canyon.

When we got back to camp at about 5 pm, the students had a few hours of free time to explore the town a bit more or just relax and shower before the evening program.
After another amazing dinner we reflected on the day in our tribe groups and then headed out for some stargazing. Using a stargazing laser, I was able to point out several constellations and shared some ancient stories about them. We also found Jupiter and talked about the path of the planets and the sun and even discussed the origins of astrology.

Kids were in bed by 10:30 in anticipation of another full day tomorrow!
