9th grade journey is off to a wonderful start.

As we left JCHS, guided by the words of tefillat haderech (the Traveler's Prayer), students enjoyed an energetic bus ride which contained a full bus sing-along and a seated dance party!

At Brandeis Bardin Institute, students enjoyed settling in to the area. Ethan and Sam L. led an impromptu soccer game. Danelle shared an inspiring d'var Torah, relating Purim to our quest for identity on the journey.

A quick game of one-on-one conversations (in the style of "speed-dating") gave the classmates a chance to learn some fun facts about each other. Naomi, Anthony, Zoe, and Nika all appreciated the opportunity to learn about their peers.

In the drum circle, students had a chance to pursue the "beat of their own drum" as well as connect with a larger, collective rhythm. This exercise was a highlight for Isaac, Yael, and Ariel G.

Yana, Ari C, Matthew, Jacob S, and Daisy agreed the ice cream sundaes were a great way to end the day. More fun tomorrow!

Thanks to Danelle Tuchman for Snapping the journey.
