The Baseball team honored senior Oliver Bass, Tennis played Kehillah, and the Swim team took a dip in the Bay, plus important information for next year!
Baseball played a challenging three game schedule this week. The first game versus North Valley was a fantastic way to start the week. The Wolves were off to an early lead as they were up 2-1 at the end of the first inning. North Valley's bats started to get hot scoring three more runs to be up 4-2 at the 7th inning. Didi Miller hit the walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to complete the four run rally that secured the 6-5 victory. The Wolves took to the field the very next day versus Alma Heights in the Senior Celebration game. JCHS honored its senior, Co-Captain Oliver Bass, for his leadership and dedication to the program. Adam Cohen pitched a great game for the JCHS and earned two hits. The Wolves started a rally late in the game but could not earn the win as they fell to Alma Heights 12-8. The Wolves face Alma Heights on Thursdayin their penultimate game of the season.
Tennis took to the courts in their penultimate match versus Kehillah. The heat could not beat the Wolves as they won three of the five matches. Doubles players Chloe Ticktin and Jordan Kimel defeated their opponents in the sweltering heat in Palo Alto. Misha Lubich handily defeated his opponent in the #2 singles match. Lucy Moore played in her first every high school tennis match. While she lost her match, she worked extremely hard in 93 degree heat. Matthew Rosenberg and Misha Lubich each played a second match as doubles partners. The duo won their doubles match with ease.
Swimming took to the cold waters of the Pacific as they wrapped up their season with a swim at Aquatic Park. Seniors Ma'ayan Epstein and Oksana Chubrikova love this end-of-the-season ritual. The duo swam without wetsuits to the mouth of the jetty in 54 degree water. They welcomed the challenge and especially loved the chance to warm up after their swim in the sauna at the Dolphin Club.
