Junior Journey: Shabbat Shalom from Tel Aviv

Rabbi Dean Kertesz
After a busy and thought-provoking week traveling, Juniors on the Israel Journey returned to Tel Aviv to enjoy the gorgeous beach and begin a restful Shabbat. Freshman, sophomore and senior grade journeys begin this week. Follow them on our blog!
Just a quick note before Shabbat begins.
We had a wonderful day with a different tempo and focus. We started with a bicycle ride along the pedestrian/bike path that runs parallel to the beach. The weather was lovely and the kids had a blast. Those who couldn't ride relaxed on the beach.
We then met with a dancer and a musician in their studios in the art district of Tel Aviv, learning Gaga dance and listening to the musician perform some of her work. Tel Aviv is the center for Israeli art and culture and we wanted to give your students a taste of the creative work going on.
We ended the day with a cash lunch and time to shop in the Nahalat Binyamin craft market and the Shuk Ha Carmel.
I've got to run now and get ready for Shabbat, which will (hopefully) be a quiet day for spiritual and physical replenishment after an incredibly packed week.
Shabbat shalom!
