The freshman have gotten off to a great start here at BBI!
The freshman have gotten off to a great start here at BBI! When we arrived we got settled into our cabins and did a night hike. Once we reached the top we had a beautiful lit-up view of Simi Valley. The next day started off with teffilah. There are different teffilahs each day such as Journaling, Yoga, Hike, Art, Discussion, and siddur-based teffilah options. We went right into our electives which were loads of fun! I chose to do horseback riding and cooking along with many others and had a great time. After morning electives we had speakers come in from a group called ADL which stands for Anti Defamation League. We talked about our identities and what makes us unique. In the evening, there were more elective choices. There was a night hike, drum circle, art, capoeira (which is a Brazilian martial art/dance), and more! Capoeira was the highlight of my night and for many others as well.

Today we are tackling a ropes course along with many other activities! It’s been a rainy/cloudy day but we are all excited for the rest of the day and can’t wait to go to Santa Monica tomorrrow!
