Sophomore Journey: From City Lights to Open Skies

Danelle Tuchman
Upon leaving the bus, we were greeted with the smell of fresh air and the outdoors. We couldn’t wait to begin this adventure!
JCHS' tenth grade landed in Las Vegas and were greeted by an interesting variety of smells, ranging from cigarette smoke to deep fried everything. We had a chance to walk along the strip and experience the parts of Vegas open to high school students. This was pretty much limited to the mall and top golf. We then piled onto a bus for a 4 hour ride through suburbia and desert until we reached Zion national park. Upon leaving the bus, we were greeted with the smell of fresh air and the outdoors. We couldn’t wait to begin this adventure!

The second day of our journey began with a delicious breakfast and interesting stretching tefillah. It was followed by an extremely difficult hike, but the challenges that the hike brought were made up for by the beautiful views and amazing photos we got to take. The day ended with a super fun game night and riff off run by our grade Rashim (representatives)! It will be hard to compete with day two of this journey but we're all excited for whats in store!
