As a general value, students are expected to behave in Zoom classrooms and virtual school programming just as they would in JCHS classrooms and when we are on campus.
School events and classes will be held on Zoom while we are in Campus Mode #4 (All-Out). All teachers are including the following Zoom norms in their class syllabi. Families and students should review these before classes begin.
Teachers must use waiting rooms for all class meetings. Teachers may “remove” students if necessary. This will result in students being marked absent. If students are uncomfortable seeing themselves on camera, they may “hide self view”.
When in a Zoom class, students are expected to:
Have their cameras turned on, and only turn them off when requested to by the teacher.
Use the mute function as instructed by the teacher.
Be fully present by not texting, chatting or doing non-class related activities on the side.
Stay off all other websites and media that are not being used in the class.
Not use virtual backgrounds in distracting ways.
To promote the safety of all community members:
Don’t share Zoom links or invitations with anyone outside of JCHS.
Do not invite anyone to a Zoom meeting when you are not the host of the meeting.
Only log into all JCHS events with your JCHS email.
Log into Zoom with your real name and do not change your name during meetings.
