The JCHS Library includes an extensive collection of books, periodicals, DVDs and audiobooks, as well as subscriptions to online databases which vastly increase the school community’s digital full-text access to thousands of eBooks, magazines, newspapers, scholarly journals, and images.
The purpose of the library program is to provide students with the skills and resources to become discerning researchers who can find and evaluate information with confidence and flexibility in a rapidly changing digital environment. The librarian works closely with faculty to integrate specific research skills and a variety of media into classroom assignments, and also consults with faculty regularly in order to ensure that resources are available in support of the curriculum.
The JCHS Library operates in coordination with the Jewish Community Library, a program of Jewish LearningWorks. The Jewish Community Library serves as a resource and gateway for individuals and families in the general community to encounter Jewish texts, take part in informal classes and programs, and learn about Jewish thought, history, and culture. The Jewish Community Library's collection includes more than 30,000 books, periodicals, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and musical scores.
