Senior Keystone Project: Daily Life of a Ski Patroller

Keystone Presentation Date: Fri., May 19, 2:25-3:20 pm

Skiing, practicing medical skills, learning how to handle yourself under pressure in the most insane circumstances, what more could you ask for in a project? After one of my friends took a bad fall skiing, I decided to base my Keystone on a group of ski patrollers in Tahoe.

For my primary mode, I volunteered 40 hours with Boreal Ski Patrol helping complete various tasks such as shovelling, maintaining rope lines and ensuring the area was safe. For my secondary mode I created a short video encompassing some of the daily tasks performed by patrol and what it takes to become a patroller.
