Personalize Your Jewish Learning

At JCHS, we believe that Jewish education is most powerful when it is meaningful and relevant. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the Pathways program, beginning with the Class of 2028. This graduation requirement empowers students to shape their Jewish learning through one of three Pathway options—all designed to align with their interests, passions, and aspirations.

Whether students are inspired by Jewish study, Hebrew language, or communal leadership, the Pathways program ensures every student has a chance to personalize their unique Jewish journey—within and beyond the classroom.

Pathway Requirement

Students must choose and complete one of the three Pathways.

Pathway 1
Jewish Studies Elective

Deepen Your Jewish Learning

For students who want to explore a particular area of Jewish Studies, this Pathway provides an opportunity to dive deeper into a topic that sparks their interest.

To complete this Pathway: Take an additional Jewish Studies elective or a course cross-listed with Jewish Studies.

Pathway 2
Fourth Year of Hebrew

Go Further with Hebrew

For students passionate about language, this Pathway offers the opportunity to deepen their Hebrew skills and engage more fully with Israeli culture, literature, and Jewish texts. A fourth year allows students to build greater confidence and fluency while continuing to develop their ability to communicate in Hebrew.

To complete this Pathway: Complete four years of Hebrew at JCHS.

Pathway 3
Community Engagement

Learn. Lead. Make an Impact.

For students who want to develop leadership skills while making an impact in the broader Jewish community, this Pathway connects learning at JCHS with Jewish organizations and programs beyond campus.

To complete this Pathway, students must complete both:

A Jewish Learning & Leadership Program – Students apply to and complete one of the pre-approved programs:

JCHS Jewish Leadership Workshop – Students meet 10 times as a cohort during the school year to explore Jewish leadership and reflect on insights from their individual programs or internships.
