Theater technology at JCHS puts students at the center of every production. Working alongside theater professionals, students design, build, and operate the technical elements that bring performances to life—from lighting and sound to scenic construction, props, costumes, and stage management.

Whether supporting the annual musical, dramatic productions, or special campus events, students gain practical experience while developing creativity, collaboration, and real-world technical skills.

Every Production Needs a Team

  • Lighting

    Program cues, create atmosphere, and learn professional lighting techniques.

  • Sound

    Mix live audio, create soundscapes, and support performances with professional equipment.

  • Scenic Construction

    Build and paint sets while learning carpentry, fabrication, and creative problem solving.

  • Props & Costumes

    Help design and create the visual details that bring every production to life.

  • Stage Management

    Coordinate rehearsals, backstage operations, and technical cues from rehearsal through opening night.
