Kavanah Program
A More Direct Path to JCHS
At JCHS, we believe the admissions process should be a positive experience—one that builds excitement about the possibilities ahead rather than anxiety about the process.
Kavanah means “intention” or “direction of the heart.” Designed for families who are confident that JCHS is their top or only independent-school choice, the Kavanah Program offers eligible Class of 2031 applicants an earlier path through admissions.
For the 2026–27 admission season, eligible students may apply by November 2, 2026 and receive an admissions decision, along with tuition assistance information when applicable, by mid-December 2026.
Families who participate commit to applying only to JCHS through the independent-school admissions process. The result is a more direct path, less waiting, and greater certainty earlier in the school year.
