Filmmaking

Tell Stories That Move People

Every great film begins with an idea. Whether you're interested in directing, cinematography, editing, or storytelling, the JCHS Filmmaking program gives students the tools and experience to bring their creative vision to life.

Through hands-on projects and collaborative learning, students explore every stage of the filmmaking process—from developing ideas and writing scripts to filming, editing, and post-production. Along the way, they study the techniques of influential filmmakers while learning to think critically, communicate visually, and tell compelling stories.

Using industry-standard Adobe Premiere, students create original films that showcase their creativity, technical skills, and unique perspectives. Many continue building their portfolios through advanced projects, the honors filmmaking course, filmmaking opportunities within the JCHS community, internships outside of school.
