College & Gap-Year Advising

Finding the Right Path

At JCHS, college advising is a highly individualized process designed to help students discover colleges, universities, and post-graduate opportunities that align with their strengths, interests, and goals.

From initial research and standardized testing to essays, interviews, financial aid, and final decisions, students and families receive one-on-one guidance throughout the college admission process. JCHS also welcomes college admission representatives throughout the year, giving students opportunities to learn about schools and make personal connections.

For students considering a different path after graduation, JCHS also provides individualized gap-year advising. Each year, approximately one-quarter to one-third of JCHS graduates choose to defer college enrollment and pursue meaningful gap-year experiences around the world.
