Your JCHS journey begins with Ravenna, our online admissions portal. Use Ravenna to request information, register for admissions events, schedule your campus visit, and complete your application.

GETTING STARTED WITH RAVENNA

  • Create a free Ravenna account to begin exploring JCHS and other participating independent schools.

  • Search for Jewish Community High School of the Bay (or search "Community") in the Ravenna school directory. Open the JCHS profile and click Explore to add JCHS to your dashboard.

  • Once you've added JCHS, you can request information, receive admissions updates, and begin exploring upcoming events.

Parent/Guardian Tours

Tour our campus in a small-group setting and learn more about academics, student life, and the JCHS experience.

Student Visit Experience

Prospective students spend time on campus attending classes, meeting students and teachers, touring the school, and enjoying our award-winning lunch.

3. APPLY

COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION

Applications are completed online through Ravenna. Once you've explored JCHS and visited the campus, you're ready to begin your application.

Your completed application includes:

  • Parent/Guardian Application

  • Student Application

  • Student Essay

  • Student Activity Form

  • Principal/Counselor Recommendation

  • English Teacher Recommendation

  • Math Teacher Recommendation

  • Current & Previous School Transcripts

  • Optional Portfolio

  • $90 Application Fee (fee waivers are available)

RAVENNA APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Click Apply at the top of your Ravenna timeline.

    Select Parent/Guardian Application Form and Pay Application Fee.

    Choose View My Application, complete the form, then click Go to Pay & Submit to finalize your application.

  • The student portion of the application includes:

    • Student Application

    • Student Essay

    • Student Activity Form

    These items appear directly below the Parent/Guardian Application in your Ravenna timeline.

  • Use the Add Delegate button in Ravenna to send recommendation requests directly to your Principal/Counselor, English teacher, and Math teacher. Teachers will submit their recommendations electronically.

  • Current and previous school transcripts should be submitted directly by your school.

  • Students are welcome to submit a portfolio showcasing work they are proud of. Portfolios are completely optional.

Scheduling Your Interview

After your Parent/Guardian Application and application fee have been submitted, you'll be able to schedule a one-on-one interview with a member of the Admissions Team through Ravenna.

What to Expect

Your interview is a relaxed conversation designed to help us get to know you better. There's no need to prepare—just come ready to share your interests, experiences, and what you're looking for in a high school.

5. ENROLL

JOIN OUR WOLF PACK

Once your application is complete and your interview has been conducted, our Admissions Committee carefully reviews every applicant through our holistic admissions process.
