Dr. Lee Steward has worked with independent schools for over 20 years, most notably with the Boys Choir of Harlem and San Francisco Girls Chorus. Trained in New York City as an opera singer, he has performed around the world in leading and supporting roles as well as currently, in the San Francisco Opera Chorus. A passionate advocate for the uniqueness and beauty of each person and musical voice, Dr. Steward believes that each one is precious and should be nurtured and developed.

Dr. Steward lives in Oakland with his wife, also an opera singer, and artistic teenage daughters. Outside of music, he loves hiking and vegan food and is an avid fan of all things related to the NBA.
