B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware

Matt White is originally from Philadelphia and has been teaching science in the Bay Area at the high school, middle school, and university levels for over a decade. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware and was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow in chemistry at UC Berkeley, with research spanning organic, inorganic, and biochemistry.

Mr. White joined the JCHS faculty in 2026 and currently teaches Chemistry and Statistics with a focus on problem-based learning and real-world applications. When he is not in the classroom, he can often be found wandering the woods and parks of the East Bay with his family and dogs.
