Amy Dean has spent the past 20 years managing science education programs in the San Francisco Bay area. Across her career, her aim has been to work towards transforming the environmental values, interests and the scientific know-how of youth so that they are better prepared to tackle the complex issues that face our planet.

Amy received a BS in Biology from Boston College and a MA in Marine Biology from San Francisco State University. She is fascinated by the wonderful and bizarre world of marine invertebrates and spent ten years teaching high school students to monitor invertebrates along the coast of California as part of a National Marine Sanctuary Program called LiMPETS. Amy also worked as an adjunct professor of Environmental Science at Dominican University and, most recently, has provided curriculum development and program coordination services for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
