Michelle Matz earned a B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University, an M.A. in Education from Stanford University, and an M.F.A. in Poetry from Mills College.
Michelle has worked at JCHS since 2008. Prior to JCHS, she worked with WritersCorps, a program of the San Francisco Arts Commission, teaching poetry to underserved youth. She was also director of a program for homeless youth living in transitional housing.
Michelle has published poetry in numerous journals. Her chapbook Atilt was published in 2006. She is currently working on a full-length manuscript.
Michelle lives in San Francisco with her daughter and two rambunctious dogs.
