Yasher Koach to sophomores Hana J-S and Zoe J-S

Yasher Koach to sophomores Hana J-S and Zoe J-S  who spoke about their passion for social justice and activism on a panel at the ELEVATE Conference on Monday. Sponsored by Jewish LearningWorks, Elevate was a day-long summit designed to bring together educators, community leaders and parents in an interactive space to discuss the practice of Jewish education, and inspire profound changes in the outcome of the learner's experience.
 
Hana Jaeger-Skigen is a sophomore and proud activist at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay where she is co-founder of the club Students for Progressive Reform. At Jewish Family & Children’s Services, she worked with Holocaust survivors as an intern and is currently a JFCS impact year leader, where she executes service and advocacy projects for fellow teens. She is a member of Extinction Rebellion Youth SF Bay, a global environmental movement, and volunteers at Rhoda Goldman with seniors. She is an active member of Habonim-Dror, a progressive youth movement, and Tzedek, which gives youth the tools to be leaders, change-makers and activists in their communities.  In her free time, she attends rallies, marches, and protests, and volunteers with many disenfranchised populations. She loves animals, is a singer, and is on the rock climbing team at her school.
 
Zoe Jaeger-Skigen is a sophomore and proud activist at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay where she serves as Rosh (president) of her class and is co-founder of the club Students for Progressive Reform. She is also an impact leader at Jewish Family & Children’s Services, where she executes service and advocacy projects for fellow teens. She is a member of Extinction Rebellion Youth SF Bay, a global environmental movement, and a proud member of the GSA club and advocates for LGBTQ issues. Zoe recently attended the SDLC (Student Diversity Leadership Conference), which is a multiracial, multicultural gathering of students from across the U.S. and abroad. She is an active member of Habonim-Dror, a progressive youth movement, and Tzedek, which gives youth the tools to be leaders, change-makers and activists in their communities.  In her free time, she is an avid SF Giants fan, plays guitar, and is on the rock climbing team at her school.
