Jamie Yuen-Shore was born and raised in San Francisco. She was trained by Bay Area ETC, the San Francisco Arts Education Project (SFArtsEd), and Young People’s Teen Musical Theater Company (YPTMTC). She attended Stanford University where she received BA in Urban Studies and MA in Sociology. She has taught musical theater and theater education with SFArtsEd, the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre; the Fulbright Program in Montevideo, Uruguay; Aim High; and San Francisco Day School, where she also taught 6th grade Social Studies. She is a founding company member of the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Company (SFBATCO – Marcelo Javier Periera & Rodney Earl Jackson Jr.). For SFBATCO, she has choreographed projects including Ragtime and West Side Story (partnered with SFArtsED and YPTMTC). She also co-created and directed I, Too, Sing America (Othello Jefferson) which was nominated for the 2017 Isadora Duncan Award for Outstanding Choreography and won the 2018 Theater Bay Area (TBA) Award for Outstanding Performance of a Musical, and for which she won the 2019 Theater Bay Area Award for Outstanding Direction of a Musical. In addition to theater, she enjoys comedy TV shows and backpacking.
