Coach Marty Cohen is excited to be beginning the next chapter of his JCHS journey as the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. Coach Cohen is a proud JCHS alumnus and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate.
At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Marty studied Sport Management and spent all four years as the head student manager and video coordinator for the Division-1 Cal Poly Men’s Basketball team.
Upon graduation, he began his basketball coaching career with Bay City Basketball, a youth club basketball company located in the Inner-Richmond. Marty now works full time with Bay City as the social media coordinator and a youth basketball coach.
Marty began working with JCHS in the 2024-25 school year as the Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball coach, working under the direction of Athletic Director, Sean Moler.
Outside of basketball, Marty is a classic rock enthusiast, live theatre enjoyer and proud Oakland native.
