The term Mizrahi refers to Jews from the Middle East and North Africa. All year we seek to deliberately incorporate the religious customs, Jewish scholarship, and cultures of Mizrahi Jews into our Jewish Studies curricula and holiday celebrations. On January 20, 2026, we are shining a light on Mizrahi heritage in a variety of ways, including:
- Special treats like sachlav and malawah at lunch
- Henna art by our student-artist, Mila Singer
- Personal share from a JCHS parent
- Special Mizrahi Heritage Tefillah
- Music, an interactive map, and more!
