Library

The primary goal of the JCHS library program is to help students and faculty use resources that facilitate both the learning and teaching of a rigorous academic curriculum.

The rapidly expanding JCHS library collection includes approximately 6,500 books (with a growth rate of about 500/year towards a target number of 15,000), current magazines and newspapers, videos and dvds, books-on-cd, and academic databases. Academic databases provide full-text access, on and off-campus, to thousands of scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers and reference books.

The library operates with the Bureau of Jewish Education’s Jewish Community Library, which serves as a resource for Jewish books and as a gateway for individuals and families to encounter Jewish texts, take part in informal classes and programs and be exposed to Jewish culture. The Jewish Community Library has over 30,000 titles (some of which are in Hebrew, Yiddish, or Russian), journals, books-on-tape, dvds and videos, cds, cassettes, and musical scores.
