JULY 26
From August 1-6, more than 12 JCHS athletes will be participating (and assistant coaching) in the 2010 Maccabi games in Denver, Colorado and Omaha, Nebraska! Our students will be joining delegates from all over the US, Canada, Mexico, Israel and Europe to compete as individual athletes or as part of a team. JCHS athletes - we will be rooting for you!
JUNE 24
Congrats to senior Ariel Gottlieb who was recently voted All American Third Team from Jewish Hoops America (JHA). JHA has honored top players and coaches for the past four years. Votes are cast by 13 coaches from around the country, as well as a representative of Jewish Hoops America. Go Ariel!
The JCHS Ultimate Disc Team (The Chai Flyers) redeemed themselves with a convincing 15-7 win over rival Kehillah. JCHS was led by the stellar play of senior co-captains Betzalel Massarano and Netzach Miller. The team also received strong efforts from seniors Joel Klonoff, Hannah Sosebee, Noah Efron and Josh Skootsky.

MAY 25
Congratulations to the following Varsity Baseball players for being chosen All-League by the coaches of the Private School Athletic League (PSAL). Our student-athletes should be commended for this tremendous honor.
First Team All-League Benny Sosnick, 11th grade, 3rd Base Andy Glickfeld, 9th grade, Outfield
Second Team All-League Jonathan Gergen, 11th grade, 1st Base Gabe Zurita-Haber, 9th grade, Catcher
JCHS was victories 13-5 over LCPA in the final game of the regular season. The Wolves received an outstanding performance from junior pitcher Benny Sosnick who went the distance (7 innings) for his second complete game of the season. Benny struck out 17 batters, while only giving up 3 earned runs. JCHS also had solid contributions from sophomore Elijah Jatovsky who went 4 for 5 from the plate (using a wooden bat). Sophomore Ariel Applbaum was outstanding as well going 2 for 5 from the plate with a double and 2 big RBIs. Sophomore Alex Preneta came off the bench to spark the Wolves with his hustle and base hit for the Wolves.
The Wolves finish the regular season with an impressive 8-6 overall record and a top-half of the standing finish in the Private School Athletic League (PSAL).

MAY 4
JCHS rolled to a 14-4 victory over LCPA on Tuesday afternoon in front of the home crowd in San Francisco. The Wolves were led by the stellar pitching of sophomore Tzvi Miller. Freshman Andy Glickfeld almost hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple, and 2 RBIs. Freshman Gabe Zurita-Haber was also outstanding as well going 3 for 4 at the place with 3 RBIs. Junior Avrumy Reissberg had a solid walk-off single to right field to end the game with a win for the Wolves.

MAY 3
The Varsity Baseball team dominated as they rolled over North Valley Baptist 12-0 on Monday in Santa Clara. Sophomore pitcher Elijah Jatovsky was outstanding as he threw a NO-HITTER, which is a remarkable accomplishment. Freshman Andy Glickfeld hit 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Juniors Jon Gergen and Mark Feldman were incredible making some sparkling plays on the diamond. Team record is 6-6.

APRIL 26
Varsity Girls Soccer
On a blustery day at Crocker-Amazon Park in SF, the Lady Wolves challenged Leadership School of Richmond and came out on the short end of the scoreboard 4-3. The Wolves started well and were rewarded in the 12th minute with a goal by Sophie Navarro. JCHS was able to increase the lead at the 16th minute with another nice goal by Sophie Navarro. The Wolves unfortunately gave up a goal shortly after. In the 32nd minute, Zoe Frankel scored off of a pretty play that began with Jordan Dong striking a ball in from the wing which was redirected by Sophie Navarro to Zoe Frankel who slotted it home. The second half was not kind to the Wolves as they conceded three goals.
The players of the match: Aviv Ovadia (freshman) who played a stellar match and displayed tremendous heart through the match. Yael Platt (sophomore) who played a wonderful match all over the field and excelled in her play. Neena Carr (freshman) who played a tough-minded match in the center of the field, winning numerous balls and challenging plays.

The Wolves lost 13-3 vs. league-leading Thomas More High School. JCHS battled and did some nice things on the diamond. Sophomore Tzvi Miller pitched a very good 2 innings for the Wolves, while freshman catcher Gabe Zurita-Haber was outstanding with a double to deep right center which scored 2 runners.

Up next: The Wolves play at home this Thursday vs. the Knights from St. Thomas More at 3:30 at Jackson Field in SF.
APRIL 22
What a fun game for players and fans last Thursday, as the Wolves' bats awakened resulting in a 15-9 decision over N. Valley Baptist (NVB), moving their record to 5-4. Led by strong pitching and hitting from Benny Sosnick and Elijah Jatovsky, timely hits from several others, and strong outfield play by Ariel Applbaum in rightfield, Mark Feldman in centerfield and Tzvi Miller in leftfield. Mark and Tzvi successfully negotiated the bright sun, hauling in deep flys at key moments in the game.
Game balls went to Andy Glickfeld, Benny Sosnick, Gabe Zurita-Haber and Elijah Jatovsky.
This week both games are against the strong Thomas More team: Mon, April 26 at 4:00 pm in San Jose.
APRIL 15
JCHS Girls soccer defeated Leadership of SF 1-0 on Thursday afternoon. In the tenth minute Jordan D hit a brilliant left-footed pass to Sophie N who scored the only goal of the match. JCHS continued to pressure creating numerous chances on goal throughout the first half.
There were four Ladies of the Match for the Wolves:
Zoe Frankel, Jordan Dong, Sophie Navarro and Amy Williams all played crucial roles in the victory. "There were a number of excellent performances and it was a joy to watch." -Coach Lee Carter

APRIL 15
The Wolves baseball team lost 13-4 vs. St. Lawrence on Thursday afternoon in SF. JCHS was led by first basemen Jon Gergen (2 for 3 with 2 RBIs) and left fielder Andy Glickfeld (1 for 2 with 3 stolen bases).
Next up: Tuesday, April 20th at North Valley Baptist, Santa Clara at 4pm. Team record is 4-4.

APRIL 13
Congratulations to junior Ariel Gottlieb for being chosen Honorable-Mention for the All-San Francisco City Boys Team. Ariel was recognized as one of the top 25 high school basketball players in San Francisco (including all SF public and private high schools).
The teams were selected by SanFranPreps.com staff, along with contributions from the San Francisco Coaches Association and NorCalPreps.com.
JCHS Baseball won a BIG game by a score of 7-3 over Summit Prep of Redwood City.
JCHS outplayed Summit Prep from start to finish, and the player of the match was Benny Sosnick, who pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts, while only allowing 3 walks and 4 hits. Benny also was unstoppable at the bat: 2 big hits, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBIs.
To end the game, Elijah Jatovsky., David Edelman, and Jon Gergen turned a beautiful double-play.

Congrats to the team. They play again next after spring break. JCHS's record is 4-2.
MARCH 18
JCHS wins 2 of 3 games this week; the final win was a nailbiter, 9-8, vs Alma Heights
The Wolves had some great loud hitting, timely pitching, and solid defense.
The game-ball went to three players: Sophomore Ariel A. pitched his first game ever and went 5 innings with 5 strikeouts, sophomore Tzvi M. went 3 for 3 with a sacrifice fly and 3 RBIs, and sophomore Elijah J. came in with the game on the line to strike-out the last batter of the game!
JCHS's record is 3-1, and has the next few days to rest. JCHS plays again on Tuesday 3/23 against Summit Prep. It's a home game at Crocker-Amazon, so come out to root for the Wolves at 3:30pm!
MARCH 10
JCHS Baseball: Big win in first game, 13-3 Congrats to the JCHS baseball team for a big win in their first game of the season, 13-3 over Mid-Peninsula High School. After only 2 offical days of practice, the team came together for an enthusiastic win with great pitching, hitting, base-running and defense.
The game-ball went to three players: Junior captain Benny S. for an amazing 8 strikeouts in 3 innings pitched, freshman Andy G. for breaking the game open with big hitting, and freshman Gabe Z. for amazing work as catcher (including throwing out a stealing running at third to prevent a rally).
JCHS Baseball plays next: Tuesday 3/16 on the road against Alma Heights in Pacifica.

Congrats to our Basketball Teams on a Great Season! Congrats to both our boys and girls basketball teams on advancing to the PSAL playoffs this season! Boys varsity basketball closed their season with an overall record of 13-5 and a league record of 9-4. The girls team closed out their season with an overall record of 8-5 and a league record of 8-4.
FEBRUARY 7
Varsity Girls’ Basketball The Wolves won big versus rival Kehillah on Sunday morning 37-15. JCHS played stellar defense and had a balanced attack on the offensive end of the floor. Freshmen Brooke Rosell led the team in scoring and freshmen Jordon Dong played well on both ends of the floor for the Wolves. Sophomore Zoe Robins came off the bench to spark the Wolves as well. (Overall record 8-3, League record 8-2).
Hip Hop Dance Team Performs at the Warriors The JCHS Varsity Hip Hop Team gave an amazing performance February 17 at Oracle Arena during halftime of the Golden State Warrior game! Their practice, preparation, and commitment really paid off, and they impressed the Warrior fans. Congratulations to the team!
Boys’ Varsity Basketball JCHS found themselves tied at halftime 17-17 vs. rival Kehillah on Sunday afternoon. The Wolves came out strong in the third quarter to take 33-25 lead. JCHS closed the game out in the fourth quarter with a 54-35 victory. Junior Ariel Gottlieb had 35 points, including 27 in the second half! Senior captain Dore Dorzia had 8 points and 10 rebounds. (Overall record 11-4, League record 9-3).
FEBRUARY 2
Varsity Girls' Basketball JCHS played well, but were defeated 35-30 on the road yesterday afternoon 35-30 vs. DCP in San Jose. The Wolves were led by Junior Danielle Diamond, 10 points, and Junior Danyal Ovadia who came off the bench to play an overall good game. (Overall record 7-3, League record 7-2)
Boys' Varsity Basketball The Wolves won 41-32 on Tuesday afternoon vs. Summit Prep. JCHS was led by senior Co-Captain Dore Dorzia, who had 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Wolves also received good games from Junior Martin Stillman and Junior Benny Sosnick. Freshmen Anthony Gumberg came off the bench to score 6 points. (Overall record 9-4, League record 7-3)
